About Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth

The bike race proceeds go to support Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth. This organization strives to supply homebound seniors in the area with quality food and deliveries. Their goal is to keep their clientele happy and in their own homes, so they don’t have to experience the loneliness and isolation often experienced in assisted-living facilities.

The organization delivers daily meals to their extensive clientele list. Recipients also get a week’s supply or orange juice and milk. Meals on Wheels helps seniors avoid the trouble of going to the food store in their sometimes immobile experiences. By providing them with daily meals, Meals on Wheels is effectively helping keep their recipients happy and healthy.

This organization is funded by the federal government, the state of Delaware, and the Sussex County Council, but also through local organizations and churches to help continue their noble work. They even hold tournaments, competitions, and fundraisers to help raise money so they can continue providing a great service for the elderly in the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach area.
