For those of you who haven’t heard, the 2017 Ford Raptor is here. True, it may have ditched its official relation to the F-150, but the spiritual ties are still there. But if you’re one of the many who are unsure whether a light weight chassis and V6 engine will dull the driving experience, The Fast Lane Truck has a special treat for you.

Recently, they took the V8-powered 2014 truck and put it side by side with the all-new 2017 version. Back then, the Raptor housed a 6.2-liter V8 with 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of twist—quite impressive for any half-ton pickup. For 2017, though, Ford has put their off-road pickup on a significant diet, and added a more powerful twin-turbo V6. The verdict? While Ford’s V8 sounds better, the more powerful V6 makes the 2017 Raptor quite a bit quicker!

Are you on the market for a frighteningly fast, off-road ready pickup? The Raptor is now available at our Ford dealership in Dover, DE. Contact us by phone or email if you have any questions, or if you’d like to set up a test drive.
