The Ford Escape is hands down one of the best small crossovers on the roads of Middletown, Dover and Odessa. There's a reason why Ford is synonymous with trucks, and even if they're built on car frames, most people still think of SUVs as trucks. Not only does the Escape provide powerful performance with an eye-catching style, it also offers the best options in technology from top to bottom.

Technology in the 2017 Ford Escape

This year, the 2017 Ford Escape technology options available get some minor upgrades. The Ford Sync 3, for example, get the Ford Pass with Sync Connect ownership app, as well as the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone app integration, as well as a range of welcome new safety features.

Base Level Technology

The base level of Ford Escape is the S Trim. It gives you the Ford MyKey parental controls for teen drivers including geofencing, speed limiting and the like. You also get an infotainment interface with 4.2-inch central display screen, rearview camera, Ford AppLink smartphone integration, six speaker sound, Bluetooth, CD player, and USB Port.

SE Technology

The SE Technology, which is usually seen as the entry level for consumer buyers, makes the lion's share of tech available. It gives you the above, plus keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, paddle shifters on the steering wheel, power adjust driver's seat (8 way with lumbar adjustment), and a satellite radio tuner.

As an add-on at this level you can get the Technology Package which gives you LED daytime running lights, rear parking sensors, upgraded Sync 3 technology with 8-inch touchscreen, nine speakers, 110-volt power outlet (household style), two USB ports, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts.

You can also opt for the Cold Weather package to add tech like heated seats and mirrors, windshield de-icing, and the 110-volt outlet. You can also add the Leather Comfort package and get a power adjust passenger seat matching the driver's. As individual add-ons you can get remote start, GPS navigation and hands-free power liftgate.

Titanium Technology

At this level you get all of the options above including all the add-ons, plus keyless ignition and entry, ambient interior lights, driver memory settings, auto-dim mirror, and an upgraded Sony sound system with 10 speakers and HD radio. At this level the Technology Package offers xenon headlights and automatic high beams, automatic wipers, lane departure warning and intervention, heated steering wheel, automated parking and parking sensors for the front and side.
