How Maintenance Schedules Are Organized
You're not required to be a certified Ford technician to understand the many different services that your vehicle needs throughout your ownership. The Ford Mustang maintenance schedule is pretty easy to follow. Each mileage that's listed will correspond with a variety of services. Whenever you hit that mileage, you'll need to have those services performed and repeated after you add that amount of miles to your Ford Mustang. Now, you're ready to learn how to keep your vehicle in great condition!
Mustang Maintenance Schedule
- 10,000 miles:Â At this mileage, you'll need a few services performed, like your oil change and your oil filter replacement. Your vehicle will also need a thorough inspection of your tires, braking system, cooling system, and exhaust system, as well as your suspension joints, ball joints, and driveshafts. Be sure to have these services conducted every 10,000 miles.
- 20,000 miles:Â While most of the services during this interval are just repeats of the 10,000-mile services, you'll need to add a cabin air filter replacement every 20,000 miles.
30,000 miles: During this visit, you'll need to add an engine air filter replacement to your list of services.
- 100,000 miles:Â If you've kept up with the previously listed services for 70,000 miles, then you'll eventually reach this interval. This maintenance appointment will consist of the aforementioned services, along with a few new important ones. You'll need to have your platinum spark plugs replaced, as well as your orange coolant changed. Your accessory drive belt should also be inspected and replaced, if necessary.
- 150,000 miles:Â You've taken great care of your Ford Mustang if you make it to 150,000 miles. While you'll need to have every service performed during this visit, you'll also need to add some major services to the list, like the changing of your transmission fluid and the replacement of your accessory drive belts if they weren't already changed out.
